A 4-1 defeat tonight for our women’s team in the Donegal Women’s League Cup Final to Bonagee United at Ballyare.
Emma Price was the Rovers goalscorer.
Overall, an encouraging first season on our return. A big thanks to Brid, Johnny , Valerie and all the players for their effort over the season.

Finn Valley 4 - 5 Letterkenny Rovers
Letterkenny Rovers overcame Finn Valley in the Donegal Womens League in a goal feast game last night, eventually winning 5-4. Despite going behind twice Rovers kept battling, Leona Slevin put Finn Valley into the lead after 5mins which set the tempo for Finn Valley. Last 10 mins of the first half saw three goals with game going from end to end. Holly McCarron equalised for Rovers on 30mins with a penalty for hand ball. Sarah McCloskey for Finn Valley put them in the lead two minutes later. Holly McCarron equalised 3mins after that.
Holly McCarron scored a further 3 at the start of the first half, However with a tactical change and persistence from Valley Sarah Conaghan pulled two back for Valley with 5 mins remaining. Rovers held out in a battling last five minutes. Great team performance by both teams

Letterkenny Rovers Ladies exited the FAI Amateur Shield this afternoon.
Having travelled to Mullingar Athletic FC in the second round of the competition, it turned out to be a hard fought game with Rovers struggling against the long ball tactics. Mullingar scored twice in the first half and as Rovers pushed in the second half conceded twice more.
The club has made a welcome return to the Donegal Women’s League this season and our Senior team are proudly sponsored by Brian McCormick Sports.
Pictures at the official kit launch this morning, our Head of Women’s football Brid McGinty along with Brian McCormick. Also included are Valerie Moore, Amy Doherty, Enya McBride and club chairman Dessie Kelly.
The team are on their travels tomorrow to face Mullingar in the second round of the FAI Women’s Amateur Shield.

The ladies make it two out of two in their opening League campaign. Goals from Rebecca McGlinchey, Sadbhba Medlar, Emma Price, Nadine Crawford and Zoe Green secured the three points

Our ladies team made the away trip to Drumbar in their first league match. In a nervous final period the girls came away with a 4-3 win. Rebecca MCGinley opened the scoring after 7mins followed shortly after by a Emma Price goal. Drumbar were rewarded for their pressure as a deflected ball found the goal. Rebecca McGinley once again give us the two goal cushion in 57mins. Fiona Deeney scored twice to level the game with 10mins remaining. Despite solid defending from Drumbar ladies, the hard work of Sadbhba Medlar paid off scoring the winner on 82mins.

Bonagee United 3 - 0 Letterkenny Rovers

Our senior women’s team made a welcome return to competitive action this evening going down 3-0 to Bonagee United in the FAI Women’s Amateur Cup.
The girls put in a fine performance in their first outing and we look forward to the new league season starting soon.
Best wishes to Bonagee in the next round.
The club are delighted to be involved in the Women's Football Conference being held in Letterkenny this weekend.
Club coach John Keys was among the club representation at the event and is pictured with national boss Vera Pauw.
Vera also made time to meet with other club members later in the afternoon.
On the last day of the conference we hosted delegates at Leckview Park Astro where James Scott, U17 International Manager demonstrated an advanced practical as part of the weekend activities.
