Letterkenny Rovers 4 - 2 Blayney Rovers

A strong second half performance by an injury ravaged Rovers saw them through to the next round against a determined Blayney side.Blayney took the lead early on when Rovers got caught in possession at the back .

Rovers pushed for an equaliser with captain Adam Dwyer pulling the strings in midfield they created numerous chances. Dwyer hit the bar from distance, and Finn Campbell had 2 good headers saved before Blayney added a second against the run of play. A Blayney cross from the right was only half cleared and was met well by their striker at the edge of the box to give James Toner in the Rovers goal no chance.

Rovers continued to push forward and created further chances, but it remained 2 nil at halftime.

Rovers continued to dominate with Ronan Tinney, hitting the woodwork and Martin Ward finishing neatly only to be blown offside. The pressure finally told when Dwyer smashed home 15 minutes in. An own goal from a free kick made it all square shortly afterwards. Rovers piled forward and took the lead when Etinosa Adun raced and finished well.

Cristian Evangelista finished the game as a contest 5 minutes from time to time when he finished well from close range.

Fine performance from the lads, with many of them playing up a year with Adam Dwyer in particular standing out.
