We are a progressive club and are very much invested in developing an inclusive club for people to all play at the right levels for their development and enjoyment.
A very important part of that is the development of our coaches and we are committed to help coaches on their development pathway and supported by experienced coaches at the different age groups.
We are continue to work towards best practices and standards which we want to hold ourselves to as we grow. Achieving ClubMark One Star Player Deveploment Center in 2022 is a further step in that direction.
We continue to invest in developing our grounds at Leckview, with the new Astro facility now up and running, and work being planned for the main grass pitch to start in 2023.
We launched our Football for All programme 2022 in conjunction with the FAI and Donegal Sports Partnership to offer sport opportunities to people with disability.
Also supported by the FAI we have run the UEFA Disney Playmakers programme aimed specifically at introducing football to young girls, a Schools-Link programme with Scoil Colmcille Letterkenny that had qualified coaches from the club go in to the school to deliver training. And in 2023 have extended that school link to include St. Bernadettes where the pupils came to our grounds weekly for training provided by our club coaches. This is the first such programme with a special school in the country and has been a huge success.
Our Junior Rovers programme continues to grow and we are delighted to have our neighbors Century Complex associated with us in this programme starting in March.
During the school breaks we held Easter Camps and a Summer Camp in conjunction with Everton FC all which were well attended and highly enjoyed.
And now we are getting Womens and girls football off the ground, which will be another great addition to the club and we look forward to seeing it grow in the coming years.
Being involved in a club like Leterkenny Rovers FC is a great way to contribute to your local community, so if you think you can help out in any way, or would like to find out more, do get in touch.
