Letterkenny Rovers 2 - 2 Bonagee United
It was a great battle between local sides at the Aura under warm conditions for both teams. Rovers will definitely feel they had the upper hand for large parts of the game as they pressed high and hard containing Bonagee while they created many good chances.
The first goal went Rovers way on 18th minute when Adhamhnan Gibson reacted quickly to a ricochet directing towards goal.
Then minutes later it was Colm OgBreathnach who reacted quick to an error in Bonagee defense and pounced on the chance to score quickly.
The half ended 2-0 to Letterkenny Rovers though they knew it was far from over.
The second half Rovers continued to push for a third, and the Bonagee threat from counter attacks continued to cause problems with Cathal Doherty, Charlie Bonner and Shay McCauley. Bonagee were rewarded for their efforts on the 61st minute when Cathal Doherty found himself with a little space and scored. Bonagee got a boost needed from that to look for a second and Doherty once again on the receiving end of a cross scored, levelling the game just before the final whistle.
A good contest between both sides.
