SATURDAY LEAGUE DIVISION TWO

Letterkenny Rovers 6 - 0 Cappry Rovers

Letterkenny Rovers cruised to a dominant 6-0 victory over Cappry Rovers in Saturday League Division Two action. The home side opened the scoring just 4 minutes in when Jason Doherty latched onto Gareth Temple’s corner and finished neatly into the goal. Rovers continued to press in Cappry's half, with Nathan Bonner firing over the bar soon after.

Cappry’s first real opportunity came in the 16th minute when Matthew Wootan received a long ball but couldn’t find the target. Letterkenny, however, were relentless. Luke Parke delivered a dangerous cross that Jordan Nugent narrowly missed, and a long ball from Henry Welles set up Doherty for a chance, but his effort went just wide in the 36th minute.

Two minutes later, Doherty doubled the lead, finishing calmly after a well-placed cross from Artem Tymoschenko. Cappry nearly responded when a mix-up in the Rovers defense created a chance, but Rovers held firm. Adam Murphy had a close effort saved by Cappry’s keeper just before the break, and Rovers went into halftime with a 2-0 lead.

The second half began with more Rovers pressure, and just minutes in, Adam Murphy was fouled in the box. Jason Doherty stepped up and completed his hat-trick with a well-taken penalty. Shortly after, in the 51st minute, Doherty added a fourth, combining with Artem to finish another Rovers attack.

Rovers extended their lead in the 76th minute when Nathan Plumb finished off a great ball from Odhran Kelly. The home side capped the scoring in the 83rd minute, with Jordan Nugent slotting home a Plumb through ball.

Other late chances for Nathan Plumb, Adam Murphy, and Odhran Kelly could have added to the scoreline, but Letterkenny Rovers were comfortable in their 6-0 win.
