Friday 1st September 2023.
A thrilling game it was between Ballyraine and Letterkenny Rovers. Ballyraine struck first with just 3 mins gone with a great long range effort finding the net.
Rovers controlled large parts of the play and equalized from a long range effort too from Savanna Keys. Rovers went in at half time leading from a second goal which was nicely taken by once again Savanna who took the ball nicely around the keeper to put Rovers up 2 - 1.
The second half seen Ballyraine return the pressure and worked really well to draw level. Rovers once again took the lead those time from a fine finish by Amy Moore. Yet again Ballyraine came back and in the final seconds managed to draw the game 3 - 3 at full time.
Extra time could not separate the sides with it going to penalties to determine a winner.
Player of the match was awarded to Savanna Keys 👏
Rovers won the penalty shoot-out to lift their first trophy as a team.
Well done to all the players and coaches.
